Job summary


This role will play a crucial part in driving the growth of MotulTech in the Thai market. Strategically, the Business Development Executive will be responsible for building, developing, and executing a comprehensive sales plan, identifying key accounts, and leading the distributors' sales teams to achieve ambitious targets.

Additionally, this position will oversee sales activities and ensure the achievement of sales targets for MotulTech in Thailand. The candidate must prioritize profitable business development while effectively managing distributor networks. A strong commitment to a value-based selling approach and enhancing the MotulTech brand as a trusted partner for customers are essential for success in this role.

 

This position is based in Thailand with frequent business travel within the country.

Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Planning and Execution

  • Follow the guidelines and strategies set by the Regional Business Development Manager and Head of MOTUL Tech APAC.
  • Drive the sales action plan in alignment with MOTUL Asia Pacific’s growth objectives, focusing on increasing market share and revenue from industrial lubricant sales, with a primary focus on the HPDC and MWF segments.
  • Identify key accounts by leveraging market insights, competitor analysis, and sales data to target high-potential clients.
  • Monitor the sales pipeline for new prospects and projects in collaboration with the distributor sales team to achieve budget targets.
  • Establish long-term, profitable relationships with key clients, positioning MotulTech as a trusted partner that provides not only products but also valuable insights and ongoing support.
  • Expand market penetration by entering new sectors or industries, including manufacturing, automotive, and industrial sectors.
  • Collaborate with product development, marketing, and technical teams to develop and customize offerings tailored to the preferences of IO customers.
  • Regularly share market information and competitor insights, using customer feedback and sales data to continuously refine the sales strategy.

Distributor & Channel Management

Manage and optimize the distributor sales network to achieve annual targets, strengthen relationships, drive sustainable sales growth, and expand MotulTech’s presence in Thailand, while ensuring alignment with company standards and strategic goals.

Forecasting and Demand Planning

Ensure accurate sales forecasting to align stock levels with demand, collaborate with supply chain and logistics for seamless delivery, use market data to inform forecasts, and adjust proactively based on market changes to optimize operations.

Leading & Motivating Sales

Co-lead and motivate the distributor sales team to meet annual targets, emphasize accountability, provide mentorship, conduct performance reviews, ensure cross-departmental alignment, and implement training programs focused on value-based selling and customer relationship management to maximize success.

MotulTech Brand Building

Adopt a value-selling approach to deliver customer-focused solutions, enhance the MotulTech brand through expertise and quality, collaborate with marketing to reinforce the brand, pursue opportunities for increased recognition, and align sales tactics with long-term brand-building goals to strengthen market presence.

Educational Qualifications/Certifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline is required. An MBA or other advanced degree is advantageous.
  • 7–10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in the metalworking/industrial oil business within the automotive sector, preferably in multinational corporations (MNCs).
  • Strong understanding of Thailand’s industrial sales landscape and the competitive environment.
  • High commercial awareness, balancing short-term objectives with long-term brand-building initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate distributor sales teams while fostering collaboration and cross-functional alignment.
  • Skilled in developing and executing sales pipelines, identifying opportunities, and driving sustainable business growth.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and demonstrate strong leadership skills to manage, motivate, and guide the team to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and deliver value-driven solutions.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales automation tools (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Good command of English (spoken, written and listening skills)
  • Well organized, can work independently and under pressure
